Rooted in the same proud pedigree as the giants of Northeast India, Devbarman has carved a legacy that transcends borders. An award-winning author, a visionary
public servant, and a revered cultural envoy, his journey reflects the harmonious blend of tradition and global thought. His literary works—acclaimed for their depth, philosophical richness, and lyrical prose—have positioned him among contemporary Indian thought leaders. His representation of India at the Panorama International Literature Festival in Thailand as an honoured delegate is testament to his intellectual stature and global literary resonance.
But his brilliance is not confined to the written word. As a public servant, Devbarman has been the architect of transformative change, lauded for initiatives that uplift communities while honouring indigenous wisdom. He has authored approximately 17 books, primarily in Bengali, exploring the folklore, arts, and culture of North‐East India .
Among his noted works is the novel “Banakuntalar Upakhyan,”(Tale of A Forest) which was serialised in six episodes on Doordarshan .
Tripura Government’s Literary Award – He became the youngest recipient of this prestigious state award in 2003 .

Served as Regional Director, Ministry of Tourism, representing India at a **UNWTO programme in Seoul (2016)**
His work was featured in regional academic curricula, with two of his books—a collection of short stories and a collection of essays—included in the syllabus at Assam University. Additionally, one of his poems is added to the syllabus for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under India’s Ministry of Education for 56 universities.
In addition to his contributions to literature and public life, Devbarman remains a mentor to the next generation—encouraging young minds to take pride in their roots while dreaming on a global scale.
