Crane Raises $484 Million Across Four Investment Vehicles

Crane Venture Partners has raised $484 million across four investment vehicles to build the world’s first globally connected inception-to-seed venture platform spanning Europe, North America, India and Asia-Pacific.

LONDON, Sept. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Crane Venture Partners today announced a major expansion of its global platform. The firm has raised $484 million across four investment vehicles and is building on its strategic relationship with MassMutual Ventures (MMV) to create a globally connected inception-to-seed venture platform designed for a world where technological innovation knows no borders.

The capital includes:

  • Crane III — $169 million
  • Crane APAC I — $150 million
  • Crane US I — $100 million
  • Crane Opportunity Fund I — $65 million

Together, the funds establish a single investment platform spanning Europe, North America, India and Asia-Pacific, enabling Crane to partner with outlier founders from inception through seed financing.

The expansion reflects a fundamental shift in where the world’s most important technology companies are being built.

Unlike traditional venture firms built around a single geography, Crane has deliberately built one connected platform, giving founders access to capital, customers, talent and expertise across four of the world’s most important innovation ecosystems from the earliest days of company creation.

“We’ve always believed that genius knows no borders,” said Krishna Visvanathan, Co-Founder and Partner at Crane Venture Partners. “Talent is evenly distributed. Opportunity is not. Our mission is to find the outlier founders shaping the future, wherever they are, and provide the conviction, partnership, and global network they need to build category-defining companies.”

Central to Crane’s United States expansion is a deepened collaboration with MassMutual Ventures, whose substantial support spans multiple Crane investment vehicles, including Crane US I.

“This step in the ongoing evolution of our relationship with Crane underscores our commitment to the venture capital asset class and the United States start-up ecosystem,” said Doug Russell, Managing Partner and Head of MassMutual Ventures. “MMV shares the conviction that the world’s best founders deserve investors capable of supporting them with a globally connected platform, and our continued strategic alliance illustrates our confidence in Crane’s team and their long-term vision.”

MMV has been a minority investor in Crane since 2018 as well as an anchor investor in all Crane funds. In 2025, MMV and Crane announced an agreement for Crane to administer MMV’s Europe and Asia-Pacific (APAC) funds, totaling $450 million and including 40 portfolio companies.

Crane’s strategy is guided by its Meridian Principle: the belief that the world’s greatest founders can emerge anywhere. As scientific discovery accelerates, AI transforms industries and technical talent become increasingly global, the next generation of defining technology companies will be built in more places, by more people, than at any point in history. Crane believes venture capital should reflect that reality.

“We’re entering an era where the next defining technology company could just as easily begin in Bangalore, Sydney, London, Toronto, New York or San Francisco,” said Scott Sage, Co-Founder and Partner at Crane Venture Partners. “Our responsibility is to build the platform capable of finding those founders early, supporting them deeply and helping them build globally from day one.”

Beyond capital, Crane partners closely with founders through critical company-building moments, helping refine go-to-market strategy, build leadership teams, develop customer relationships and expand internationally. The firm’s growing global network of operators, executives, founders and technical leaders provides practical support long after the initial investment.

“Most venture firms are built around geography. We’ve built Crane around a belief that the world’s greatest founders can emerge anywhere, and they deserve a partner that can help them build everywhere,” added Visvanathan.

About Crane Venture Partners
