~ Veteran Channel and Partner Ecosystem Leader to Drive Growth and Expand Market Presence in Japan ~
TOKYO, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Acronis, a global provider of an AI-native cyber platform for MSPs and IT departments, today announced the appointment of Hisao Toyama as General Manager of Acronis Japan K.K., effective September 15, 2026.
Toyama joined Acronis in June 2025 as Senior Director, overseeing the company’s distribution channels and key partner initiatives in Japan. Since joining the company, he has played an instrumental role in strengthening relationships with major distributors, expanding Acronis’ partner ecosystem, and driving business growth in the Japanese market.
As General Manager of Acronis Japan, Toyama will leverage his deep experience in channel business and partner ecosystems to further strengthen collaboration with service providers and business partners while accelerating Acronis’ growth and market expansion in Japan.
“I am deeply honored to assume the role of General Manager of Acronis Japan,” said Toyama. “Throughout my career, I have spent many years working in the IT channel business, collaborating closely with distributors and partners to drive business growth.”
Prior to joining Acronis, Toyama served as Director of Partner Alliances at Workday K.K., the Japanese subsidiary of Workday, where he led initiatives to expand the company’s partner ecosystem. Before that, he held leadership roles at Cisco Systems G.K., overseeing distributor sales operations and building strategic relationships with leading distributors and reseller partners. Throughout his career, Toyama has developed extensive expertise in channel development, partner management, and business across the IT industry.
Toyama continued, “As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated and complex, it is more important than ever for organizations to manage data protection and cybersecurity in an integrated and efficient manner while ensuring business continuity. In addition, initiatives such as the Cybersecurity Measures Evaluation System for Strengthening Supply Chains (SCS Rating System), being advanced by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), underscore the need to strengthen security not only within individual organizations, but across entire supply chains. By combining my experience in building partner ecosystems with Acronis’ technology, I am committed to bringing the value of Acronis’ cyber protection platform to more customers. Working closely with our partners, I will help create an environment in which Japanese businesses can grow with confidence, while driving further business expansion in Japan and contributing to the success of our customers.”
