The health system will grow to the largest orthopedic group locally, increasing access to care for patients

York, Pa., Aug. 24, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — WellSpan Health announced today the addition of twelve new physicians to its WellSpan Orthopedics team, marking a significant step in increasing patient access to orthopedic care throughout Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. By the end of September, the incoming physicians will bring the number of health care professionals offering WellSpan Orthopedic care to more than 140, the largest in the region.

Eight of the new physicians have already joined the orthopedics team so far this year, alongside other WellSpan Orthopedics and Sports Medicine professionals to expand access for patients in Carlisle, Ephrata, Gettysburg, Hanover, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lewisburg and York. This expansion also enables WellSpan to meet growing demand for orthopedic services, ensuring that more individuals and families can benefit from advanced treatments, surgical procedures and rehabilitation close to home.
