Latest Release Responds to Real-World Workflow Needs with Connected, Responsive Updates and Enhancements, Reducing Friction in Everyday Design Work.
Vectorworks 2027 Now Available
Columbia, MD, Sept. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Global design and BIM software provider Vectorworks, Inc., announces the release of Vectorworks 2027, the latest version of its product line, built around how design professionals work every day.
Rooted in the company’s design-first philosophy, Vectorworks 2027 reduces friction, simplifies routine tasks, and makes it easier to visualize, document, coordinate, and exchange information. The result is a more responsive design experience that reflects how professionals work, with improvements across performance, visualization, data-driven graphics, and content resources.
The 2027 version includes Vectorworks Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Design Suite, Fundamentals, ConnectCAD, and Braceworks.
“Innovation isn’t always about introducing something entirely new. Sometimes, it’s about understanding how professionals already work and finding better ways to support them,” said Vectorworks Chief Product Officer Darick DeHart. “The best improvements remove obstacles without asking users to rethink how they work, making familiar tasks more intuitive and giving designers greater control over their work. With Vectorworks 2027, we’ve focused on those meaningful details across the everyday design experience, helping professionals work with greater ease and confidence as their projects grow in scale and complexity.”
Performance-Driven Visualization, From Textures to Live Renders
Vectorworks 2027 delivers faster, more faithful visualization at every stage of design. Modernized texture resources built on a modern PBR system, alongside a redesigned Edit Texture dialog with live previews, make it easier to create and refine materials with confidence. Graphics acceleration, powered by direct GPU support through Vulkan and Metal, improves the responsiveness of everyday navigation of 3D models in different modes.
“By modernizing our graphics engine with Metal on Mac and Vulkan on Windows, we’re shifting more processing from the CPU to the GPU, to deliver a new level of speed and responsiveness across the workflows designers rely on every day,” said Hugues Tsafak, Vice President of Product Development at Vectorworks. “In some cases, designers can see performance gains of 15x to 35x in workflows like panning and zooming—and up to 50x faster multiple-object selection—making it possible to navigate large 3D models and render complex projects at speeds that previously would have seemed out of reach. These advances make Vectorworks dramatically faster and more responsive on the hardware designers already have.”
Additionally, the AI Visualizer brings Google’s frontier Nano Banana AI models directly into Vectorworks for subscription customers, with higher image resolution, smarter scene reasoning, and up to 14 image references.
Connected Content and Community Resources
In this latest version, users can expect a more connected approach to finding, using, and managing design content. The Exchange is a new hub and in-app palette where customers can share, submit, and discover ready-to-use resources from the user community and industry partners without interrupting their workflow.
Additionally, expanded support for Revit Families and DXF/DWG Dynamic Blocks enables content to come into Vectorworks as dynamic objects. Reducing repetitive recreation, cleanup, and assets helps teams maintain consistent project information.
Geolocate Without GIS Expertise
Vectorworks 2027 makes georeferencing more accessible and accurate, helping designers align their models with real-world coordinates without requiring GIS expertise. Designers can also take advantage of the Geolocation Setup Wizard, which aligns surveys, point clouds, GIS layers, and location imagery—including new Google Maps imagery, available to subscription customers—around a single survey point.
Streamlined Workflows for Entertainment Design
Entertainment design professionals can work more efficiently across complex lighting, rigging, and audio workflows with new tools and enhancements in Vectorworks 2027. Schematic View workflows have been enhanced to simplify documentation by automating data tags, label legends, and dimensions with a single dialog. These settings can then be saved as reusable sets, helping teams reduce repetitive work and maintain consistency. Improved cable connectivity workflows provide a more streamlined approach to developing accurate, build-ready power and data plans.
Vectorworks Spotlight 2027 also builds better connections to audio design with the full production workflow. The new Audio Listening Plane lets designers define listening planes and exchange them with compatible audio analysis tools through MVR. You can then visualize imported sound coverage results in Vectorworks.
