New “Mixing with SSL” program teaches modern DAW mixing techniques derived from legendary SSL console workflows and implemented using SSL’s software ecosystem, with one year of access to more than 100 SSL and Slate Digital plugins for Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, FL Studio and other DAWs.
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ProMedia Training, the longest-running Avid Pro Tools Certified Training Center in the United States, has been named the first U.S. Solid State Logic (SSL) Professional Training Partner and is now offering SSL Certified Training for modern DAW mixing workflows. The new Mixing with SSL program expands ProMedia’s professional audio education offerings beyond Avid® Pro Tools and Dolby Atmos® certification.
Ashleigh Davies, Head of SSL Educational Programmes & Services, stated, “We are pleased to select ProMedia Training as the first Professional SSL Certified Training Partner in the U.S. — a proven organization to train working audio engineers outside of traditional academia. ProMedia has established itself as a results-driven leader in continuing audio education. Their experienced instructor team, proven track record in Avid Pro Tools and Dolby Atmos Certification, and Grammy®-winning mixing instructors bring deep knowledge of SSL and professional audio workflows.”
ProMedia Training will be the first SSL Certified Training Partner in the U.S. to roll out SSL Music Mixing – Level 1 Certification in a live-online format on September 19, 2026. As of September 1, 2026, ProMedia Training is one of only two U.S.-based partners approved by Solid State Logic to deliver SSL Music Mixing – Level 1 Certification.
The course is designed to help audio engineers improve mix clarity, balance, depth, and impact using Solid State Logic’s proven mixing methods and console-inspired workflows inside today’s DAW-based production environments. The 4-day course will be led by an SSL Certified Mixing Instructor who completed rigorous training, evaluation, and testing through Solid State Logic’s U.K. education team to deliver the official curriculum.
The program is designed for audio engineers, post-production mixers, producers, and DAW users who want to improve their mixing skills in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, FL Studio, and other digital audio workstations.

Available as live-online interactive instruction or in-person training in Los Angeles and Miami, with courses planned for New York and Atlanta, the small-class program combines hands-on learning, detailed course materials, an official SSL course textbook, real practice sessions, and live instruction. In addition to the SSL Certified Instructor, the course is paired with a Grammy-winning mixing engineer who will guide students through rebuilding a mix while explaining the “why” behind each creative and technical decision — from balance, EQ, dynamics, and depth to the final impact of the mix.
The 16-hour course is initially delivered across four live online sessions and includes one year of complimentary access to more than 100 SSL and Slate Digital plugins, along with 50+ hours of exclusive SSL tutorial videos. This enables participants to immediately apply SSL mixing concepts within their existing production environments, even without access to a large-format SSL console. While the curriculum is centered on professional in-the-box mixing using SSL plugins, select in-person courses will also incorporate hands-on training with large-format SSL consoles to demonstrate how classic console workflows translate to today’s DAW-based production environments.

The curriculum covers the core principles and advanced techniques used by professional mix engineers that have evolved alongside SSL console signal flow and architecture, SSL channel strips, advanced equalization, dynamic processing, SSL buss compression, professional mix processing chains, gain staging, automation, and much more. Additional modules explore stereo imaging, spatial audio production, SSL Native plugins, and commercial release standards for streaming, broadcast, and physical media distribution.
“Many engineers understand their DAW but have never had formal training in the workflows and techniques that define professional mixing environments,” said Mihai Boloni, President of ProMedia Training. “This course bridges that gap by giving students direct access to SSL methodologies that have shaped countless hit records, while teaching them how to translate those same principles into today’s DAW-based production tools.”

Participants will learn how to build cohesive mixes using industry-standard processing chains, integrate analog-style workflows into modern production environments, and strengthen the critical listening and decision-making skills required in professional music and post-production settings.
The SSL training rollout builds on ProMedia Training’s formal partnership announcement with Solid State Logic and recent industry coverage in Mix Magazine, ProSoundWeb, and Sound & Video Contractor.
The first live online Certified SSL Training for Professional DAW Mixing course will be held September 19, 20, 26 and 27, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PDT).
Prerequisites include proficiency in Pro Tools or another professional DAW. Completion of ProMedia Training’s Pro Tools 101/110 coursework also satisfies this requirement.
