The toothbrush’s touchscreen can be used to select from eight different cleaning modes and three intensity levels, including gentle options for sensitive teeth or gums. The screen also displays a “12-segment mouth map” representing sections of teeth in your mouth that changes color to indicate when the motion-detecting toothbrush thinks you’ve brushed effectively, or where a redo is recommended.
In addition to the screen, the Next-Generation DiamondClean 9900 features a glowing, color-changing light ring on the base that works alongside a third-generation AI model and Philips’ “SenseIQ” technology to let you know if you’re pressing too hard during a cleaning. But the 9900 can also help you there by adjusting its own vibration intensity based on your technique to ensure you’re brushing your teeth safely and effectively.
