The partnership connects EnergyLIB battery systems and accredited installation through Autra Batteries Australia with CovaU Energy plans, giving eligible households a clearer pathway from storage installation to energy retail
SYDNEY, Sept. 11, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Autra Batteries Australia, EnergyLIB’s local retail partner in Australia for residential inverters and battery systems across New South Wales and South East Queensland, today announced a partnership with CovaU Energy, an Australian-owned electricity retailer, to help close the gap between home battery installation and energy retail. From the day their system is switched on, eligible Autra customers can access CovaU Energy plans designed around solar and storage.
Under the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, installed home battery capacity reached 7.4 GWh in the program’s first nine months1 — and the momentum is only accelerating. Backed by an estimated $7.2 billion over four years, the program is expected to put batteries in more than two million Australian homes by 2030, adding around 40 gigawatt hours of storage capacity2. For these households, the return on a battery system depends not only on the hardware installed, but also on the electricity plan behind it. Homeowners who purchase an EnergyLIB battery system through Autra Batteries Australia can be introduced to relevant CovaU Energy plans at the point of installation. Depending on their location, system configuration and eligibility, customers can choose between two ways to manage their energy:
- SolarMax Plan — a free import window, premium peak feed-in rates and an EV overnight charging rate.
- VPP Plan — an eligible battery supports the grid through automatic dispatch and earns bill credits, with a minimum battery reserve maintained for the home.
