Trevor Noah is hosting Google’s Pixel 11 launch event

Google is set to host its next live Made by Google hardware launch event on August 12th, and the company says in a new video that comedian Trevor Noah will be hosting the show.

The video indicates that the event will feature other celebrities and influencers as well, including Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper (who was at the 2025 event), Indian cricketer Shubman Gill (who has starred in Pixel ads), Japanese actress Ayami Nakajo (who has also starred in Pixel ads), and NBA star / Google Performance Advisor Stephen Curry. (Cooper and Noah are also bringing shows to YouTube.)

Jimmy Fallon hosted the show last year, an event that my colleague Victoria Song described as more like “a live taping of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” than a traditional tech launch event. Given the celebrity faces set to appear at this year’s event, it seems that Google is once again aiming to reach a more mainstream audience. It’s also airing right at the end of the ET workday: the event, which takes place in New York City, starts at 6PM ET.

As for the gadgets you can expect, Google’s event teaser video features brief glimpses of a new phone and smartwatch, and the company has previously shown teases of the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. There are a bunch of leaked images and specs of the upcoming hardware floating around, too. However, if you’re thinking about picking up one of Google’s new gadgets, you should be prepared for a higher price tag.
