Seattle, WA, Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ThriftBooks Global, LLC, the world’s largest independent online seller of used books, announced the appointment of Carla Anderson Skogland as Chief Financial Officer. Anderson Skogland will lead the company’s financial strategy as ThriftBooks expands its e-commerce and marketplace footprint, scales its LibraryAdvantage™ program for libraries, and continues to grow as a global brand.

Anderson Skogland has more than 25 years of financial leadership experience across retail, technology, and telecommunications, including roles at Amazon, Starbucks, and T-Mobile. She has a proven track record of using financial insights and operational discipline to improve the customer experience, accelerate profitable growth, and build organizations for scale.

“We are honored to have Carla join our executive leadership team as CFO,” said Ken Goldstein, ThriftBooks Chairman & CEO. “Her deep background in finance has been repeatedly proven at such admirable companies as Amazon, Starbucks, and T-Mobile. As ThriftBooks continues to emerge as a global brand in better serving all our stakeholders, Carla’s passion for excellence and technical acumen will help guide us to even better solutions for our customers, suppliers, partners, and employees. I am most impressed by the balance she brings to our discussions of empathy, efficiency, and actionable insights. She understands teamwork and knows what it means to win in competitive environments where ceaseless change is a norm.”

“ThriftBooks has built something genuinely uncommon: a business that is disciplined and profitable while doing tangible good for readers, libraries, and the planet,” said Anderson Skogland. “The company has earned extraordinary customer loyalty by keeping books affordable and in circulation. I’m looking forward to working with Ken and the leadership team to scale that model thoughtfully and put the company’s next chapter of growth on a strong financial foundation.”

Anderson Skogland holds a BS in Accounting from Western Washington University. She is based in the Seattle area.
