ALMATY, Kazakhstan, Sept. 2, 2026 — Teniz Capital Investment Banking JSC (KASE: TCIB) has appointed banker Talgat Salikhov and Chairman of its Management Board, or CEO, effective immediately, the firm’s board of directors said on a regulatory filing before the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).

Salikhov, who joined the company’s board as an independent director in 2025 and chaired its Strategy, Human Resources and Remuneration committee, takes over as the Kazakh-Emirati investment bank expands its cross-border business, including its role as local underwriter on Kazakhstan’s debut sovereign panda bond in China’s onshore market.

Salikhov has more than 12 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity and asset management. From 2020 to 2022 he was head of financial advisory and merchant banking and an executive board member at Tengri Capital, an Almaty-based investment bank. He began his finance career at PwC, working on corporate finance projects in Kazakhstan and Russia, after starting out as an engineer at consultancy Mott MacDonald.

Salikhov holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Nottingham and a master’s degree in transport and business management from Imperial College London. He also serves on the supervisory board of the Asian Credit Fund, a Kazakh microfinance institution.

“Teniz Capital has built something rare, and is now a Kazakh firm with its own seat at the table in China’s capital markets,” Salikhov said. “My mandate is to scale that position, with more issuers, more investors and deeper corridors between Central Asia and the region’s major pools of capital.”

The appointment follows the most active year in the firm’s history in China-linked business.

Teniz Capital acted as local underwriter on Kazakhstan’s first sovereign panda bond, a 3-year note priced at 1.9% — about 30 basis points over the Chinese policy-bank benchmark — and opened the first direct account in Central Asia with Hong Kong’s Central Moneymarkets Unit, giving regional investors access to China’s onshore bond market through Bond Connect.

The firm is advising a pipeline of Kazakh quasi-sovereign and corporate issuers preparing renminbi and dim sum transactions, among other Central Asian and mandates

Teniz Capital has operated in Kazakhstan’s securities market since 1997 and employs more than 100 professionals across offices in Almaty, the Astana International Financial Centre and Abu Dhabi. The firm has managed securities placements worth more than 510 billion tenge (about $1.1 billion), with recent mandates from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Finance, sovereign wealth fund Samruk-Kazyna, national railway KTZ, the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and Bank RBK. In 2025 it acquired a 49% stake in Tabys, a retail investment fintech of the Astana International Exchange.
