SEOOnly, a specialist AI SEO and search visibility firm founded by marketing entrepreneur Preeti Kennedy, has launched to help businesses adapt as AI assistants and changing search behavior reshape how customers find and choose brands online

SYDNEY, Sept. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — SEOOnly, a new specialist search visibility firm, today announced its formal debut. Founder Preeti Kennedy created the company after identifying what she describes as the most significant shift in search behaviour since Google’s early years, driven by AI assistants and conversational search.

Kennedy’s career has spanned more than two decades across marketing, business growth and entrepreneurship, working with SMEs in Australia and internationally. Having watched customer discovery evolve from traditional advertising to Google, social media and now AI-driven search, she saw the need for a business focused exclusively on the changing search landscape.

Rather than adding AI SEO as another service within a full-service marketing agency, Kennedy founded SEOOnly as a standalone specialist firm.

“For years, you wanted something and you Googled it,” said Kennedy, founder of SEOOnly. “Now people are asking AI what to buy, where to go and which business to trust. Businesses need to understand what that means for them.”

SEOOnly helps businesses build visibility across traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven environments, including platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini. Rather than focusing on rankings alone, the firm looks at how visible, understandable and discoverable a business is as search evolves.

Kennedy said modern search has become too specialised to remain simply one service within a broader marketing offering.

“Search is changing incredibly quickly,” she said. “We felt it deserved complete focus — a company where understanding search isn’t one department’s responsibility. It’s the entire reason the company exists.”

SEOOnly has been built around a specialist team spanning technical SEO, search strategy, content, customer behaviour and emerging AI search. The model is designed to combine commercial marketing experience with deep specialist search expertise as the way consumers discover businesses continues to evolve.

Kennedy said this specialist structure was deliberate.

“I’ve never believed that building a great business means knowing everything yourself,” she said. “It’s about recognising where the opportunity is, bringing together people who have deep expertise in their fields and giving them the environment to do exceptional work.”

Conversations with Kennedy’s teenage son also reinforced the generational shift she was seeing more broadly, as younger consumers move naturally between AI assistants, traditional search, video and social platforms rather than treating any single platform as the default place to find information.

“The way people discover information is evolving much faster than most businesses realise,” Kennedy said. “For younger consumers especially, asking an AI assistant a question can feel just as natural as typing something into Google.”

The shift has also raised questions among businesses about whether the rise of generative AI could eventually make traditional SEO obsolete.

Kennedy believes that is the wrong way to look at the change.

“AI isn’t replacing search, it’s expanding it,” she said. “Search is no longer simply about where you rank on Google. It’s about whether your business can be understood, trusted and surfaced wherever customers go looking for answers.”

Traditional SEO, she said, remains fundamental. Google continues to play an enormous role in customer discovery, while the technical foundations, content, authority and trust signals businesses have built for traditional search can also influence their broader digital discoverability.

What is changing is the number of places where that discovery can now happen.

For businesses, Kennedy believes this means thinking about search visibility more broadly — including how search engines and AI systems understand a company’s expertise, authority, relevance and relationship to the questions potential customers are asking.

SEOOnly was created specifically around that challenge.

Rather than operating as a full-service digital agency offering SEO alongside social media, paid advertising and other marketing services, the company is focused exclusively on search and the disciplines that influence search visibility.

“We called it SEOOnly for a reason,” Kennedy said. “Search isn’t one of the things we do. It’s what we do.”

The company is now working with businesses that want to reassess their discoverability across traditional and AI-driven search and understand how changes in customer search behaviour may affect their future visibility.

Companies interested in learning more about SEOOnly or requesting a visibility assessment can visit SEOOnly.
