That is the consensus of a national preparedness ranking conducted by national preparedness brand 4Patriots for National Preparedness Month in September, kicking off today.

The ranking is based on a combination of external factors including FEMA National Risk Index scores; CREs; climate/disaster exposure history; infrastructure modernization; power grid reliability; power backups for public buildings; public shelter counts; emergency management maturity studies; socioeconomic resilience indicators; CPR and emergency class attendance; and municipal budgets allocated to emergency management, business outreach and education.
