Wardrobe on rent in Delhi now runs on published terms for 2026: a three-month minimum rental tenure extending to 36 months, PAN card and selfie KYC, a refundable security deposit equal to one month of rent, seven days notice for early closure and free relocation, across Dwarka, Rohini, Saket, Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Kunj and Pitampura.

Bangalore, India, Sept. 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Wardrobe rentals are gaining ground across Delhi through 2026, with one-door cupboard plans listed from ₹256 a month against purchase prices running from ₹15,000 to ₹45,000 depending on configuration. Rental platforms operating in the capital, including Rentomojo, are recording steady uptake in tenure-bound housing across Dwarka, Rohini and Saket, a pattern shaped by how long a lease runs rather than by furnishing preference. Delhi’s rental housing market turns on short commitments. The eleven-month lease remains the standard instrument across Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Kunj and Pitampura, and corporate postings into the capital frequently run shorter than the useful life of a storage unit. Students arriving for academic cycles in North Delhi and professionals relocating into the southern belt face the same arithmetic. A wardrobe bought for a single lease has to be dismantled, transported and resold at the end of it, and each of those three steps carries a cost that the purchase price does not disclose.

The minimum rental tenure for a wardrobe in Delhi is three months. Plans extend to 36 months, and the monthly rate falls as the committed tenure lengthens. The three-month floor applies to one-door, two-door and three-door configurations alike, and there is no eighteen-month lock-in on storage furniture in the capital. Tenure extends at the end of a term without a fresh order, which keeps a three-month commitment usable as an open-ended arrangement rather than a repeating decision.

Documentation is limited. A PAN card and a selfie complete the mandatory KYC for a wardrobe rental in Delhi, with further documents requested only on a case-by-case assessment. A refundable security deposit is collected at onboarding and is set at one month of rent, which places it at ₹256 on the entry one-door wardrobe plan and ₹812 on a three-door unit with mirror. The deposit returns within seven working days of a quality check and the settlement of outstanding dues, credited to the bank account held in the name of the customer who placed the order.

Ownership carries its full cost at the outset. A wardrobe bought outright in Delhi runs from ₹15,000 to ₹45,000 depending on door count, finish and mirror configuration, and the outlay is followed by assembly, eventual repair and the weak resale recovery typical of bulky engineered wood furniture. Relocation adds further cost, with dismantling and transport for a single large storage unit reported at around ₹5,000. The ₹15,000 to ₹45,000 cost of owning a wardrobe set against a ₹256 monthly rental line now anchors how tenure-bound households in Delhi price a twelve-month furnishing decision.

Exit terms are published in the same detail as entry terms. An order can be cancelled at no cost up to one day before the scheduled delivery date. At delivery, a unit found defective or non-functional can be refused without a deposit deduction. After delivery, a subscription can be closed ahead of the committed tenure on seven days notice, with an early closure charge that is typically one month of rent. That charge does not apply where the subscription moves to another operating city or transfers to another customer, which removes the most common reason a tenure-bound renter would pay to exit a plan early.

Booking runs through three steps: selecting a configuration, choosing a tenure and completing online KYC. Delivery and installation follow within 48 to 72 hours of verification in serviced Delhi pin codes. Payment is accepted by credit card, debit card, UPI and net banking on a postpaid billing cycle, invoiced after usage rather than collected in advance. Service requests, relocation requests and closure requests are raised through the customer account, and support runs through in-app chat and the published support address.

Rental terms function as a pricing variable in Delhi’s storage furniture category, where minimum tenure, deposit size and exit charges determine total cost more reliably than the advertised monthly rate. Bulky home furniture is increasingly furnished on subscription across India’s high-mobility metros, where the size of the item and the frequency of relocation decide the real cost rather than its durability.

Published contract terms are becoming the deciding factor in Indian furniture rental, where the cost of leaving a plan matters as much to a tenure-bound household as the cost of joining one. In Delhi the terms attached to a wardrobe rental are now specific: three months minimum, 36 months maximum, a PAN card and a selfie for KYC, one month of rent as a refundable deposit, seven days notice to close, and no exit charge where the plan relocates or transfers. For a category in which the cost of misjudging a lease length used to sit entirely with the tenant, that redistribution of risk is the substance of the shift.
