Why USDA-Certified Organic Skincare Is So Rare, and Why That Matters

MY24/7 by Red Pantz fully USDA-certified organic skincare line certified by CCOF

USDA organic certification applies to qualifying skincare and personal-care products, but very few skincare brands have pursued it. CCOF has been part of the organic movement for more than 50 years and was an early certifier of organic personal-care products. MY24/7 by Red Pantz is the first skincare line certified by CCOF to carry USDA organic certification across its entire product portfolio.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Red Pantz, a health and wellness company rooted in Ayurvedic medicine, marks five years of maintaining USDA organic certification across its entire skincare product portfolio, certified by CCOF, one of the early organic certifiers in the United States and an early certifier of personal-care products. MY24/7 by Red Pantz is the first skincare line certified by CCOF to carry USDA organic certification across its entire product portfolio.

USDA organic certification applies to qualifying skincare and personal-care products, but very few skincare brands have pursued it. Unlike certification programs created specifically for cosmetics and personal care, the USDA does not have a separate organic standard for skincare. Qualifying skincare products seeking certification must meet the requirements of the USDA National Organic Program, the same federal organic program that governs organic food and agriculture.

For skincare brands, that means meeting a rigorous organic standard that extends beyond individual ingredients to how organic products are sourced, handled, processed, documented, and certified. Certification requires review, inspection, and ongoing compliance.

CCOF has been part of the organic movement for more than 50 years and was an early certifier of organic personal-care products. Today, the nonprofit provides USDA organic certification services across the organic industry.

“When consumers see the CCOF seal and USDA Organic label, they can be confident that the product has gone through a robust verification that is backed by federal law,” says Michael Recco, CCOF Director of Marketing. “Organic certification isn’t just for food. CCOF is proud to serve as Red Pantz organic certifier for five years and counting, bringing more organic personal care products to the market.”

Red Pantz is one of the very few brands with USDA-certified organic products and among an even smaller number to maintain certification across its entire skincare line, rather than certifying only one or two products.

Red Pantz chose USDA organic certification as a commitment to quality, transparency, and accountability backed by an established federal standard and independent certification.

The USDA organic certification in skincare gives consumers a defined standard they can look for and an independent certification process behind the claim. For Red Pantz, maintaining that certification across its skincare line for five years reflects an ongoing commitment to the standards, documentation, oversight, and accountability required to remain certified.

About CCOF

CCOF is a nonprofit organization advancing organic agriculture for a healthy world through organic certification, education, advocacy, and promotion. Founded in California more than 50 years ago, CCOF provides organic certification services to operations across North America and is a USDA-accredited certifying agent.
