TEL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Orbs, the decentralized Layer-3 blockchain infrastructure focused on advanced on-chain trading, has appointed Ran Hammer as chief executive officer, with Nadav Shemesh moving into the role of executive chairman. Hammer, who has been part of Orbs since the project began in 2017, will lead the company as it continues to develop its technology and expand its ecosystem.

Hammer previously served as chief business officer at Orbs, where he led integration efforts across the protocol suite and worked with teams and partners to bring Orbs-powered products into use across the decentralized finance ecosystem. His work included turning integrations into long-term relationships and building the partner network that supports the protocol today.

“Having been part of Orbs from the beginning, I’ve had the opportunity to see the technology, ecosystem, and community develop firsthand,” said Hammer. “My focus as CEO will be on building on that foundation, working closely with our team and partners to expand the role Orbs can play in advancing the adoption of on-chain finance across retail, institutional, professional, and agenic flows.”

During his time at Orbs, Hammer has worked across the company’s technology, business development, partnerships, and community. He has also been a public voice for the project, communicating product developments and engaging with the Orbs community on the protocol’s direction.

Since its beginnings in 2017, Orbs has expanded its work with decentralized exchanges, providing infrastructure that enables advanced trading tools and improved on-chain execution. Its Layer-3 infrastructure provides an additional execution layer for more complex functionality beyond the native capabilities of smart contracts, with existing Orbs-powered protocols supporting advanced trading orders, liquidity aggregation, and decentralized derivatives.

Shemesh will remain closely involved with Orbs as executive chairman, focusing on long-term strategy and supporting the leadership team. The transition builds on his tenure as CEO while shifting day-to-day leadership to Hammer.

Hammer takes the CEO role as Orbs continues to develop its technology and broaden its presence across the DeFi ecosystem. His appointment places a longtime member of the Orbs leadership team at the center of the company’s next phase, while maintaining continuity in its long-term strategy.

About Orbs
Orbs is a decentralized Layer-3 blockchain that provides trading infrastructure for on chain finance. Powered by Proof-of-Stake, Orbs-powered protocols provide the best spot and perps execution for professional traders and institutions moving on chain.
