REYKJAVIK, Iceland, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Iceland is one of the world’s most distinctive destinations for extreme exploration, where glaciers, volcanoes and tundra wetlands create a constantly changing landscape that challenges vehicles to adapt to demanding conditions. Recently, the Iceland episode of Adventure of Extremes Season 2, a series co-created by JETOUR and Discovery, was released as the season’s concluding chapter. World-renowned explorer Ed Stafford drove the JETOUR T2 deep into Iceland’s interior, exploring its diverse terrain and testing the vehicle’s ability to handle changing road conditions.

XWD Enables T2 to Tackle Diverse Terrain

In Iceland, glaciers and volcanic lava fields create constantly changing terrain, testing traction, stability and adaptability. On icy surfaces, the T2’s XWD system offers seven driving modes and can automatically select the appropriate mode via the “X” button, adjusting power delivery and traction control to help maintain stability on low-grip surfaces. In volcanic terrain, its high-rigidity body, strong approach and departure angles, and specially tuned suspension help the T2 negotiate rocky surfaces and uneven gullies while reducing the risk of underbody impacts and scraping.

Ed Stafford said: “What makes Iceland special is how quickly the terrain can change. One moment you can be driving over volcanic rock, and the next you can find yourself on ice or wetland. What impressed me most about the T2 was its XWD technology. I could simply select the appropriate mode and continue driving without having to make complex adjustments. That kind of capability is rare.”

Tested in Extreme Conditions, Expanding Travel Possibilities

With the Iceland episode, Adventure of Extremes Season 2 concludes its global exploration journey.

Adventure of Extremes Season 2 followed Ed Stafford across extreme environments on three continents, from Ecuador’s volcanic highlands and Colombia’s rainforests and coastlines to Morocco’s Sahara Desert and Iceland’s glacial wilderness. Through real-world testing and demanding challenges, the series put the G700 and T2 through a range of extreme conditions, demonstrating their off-road capabilities while highlighting JETOUR’s spirit of exploration.

For JETOUR, Adventure of Extremes is both a real-world test of its products and an expression of its Travel+ strategy. By addressing users’ needs through technology, JETOUR continues to explore new possibilities in travel and outdoor lifestyles together with users worldwide.
