MacPhee, a highly accomplished insurance executive and former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Liberty Mutual Insurance, joins ISG as the company continues to expand its integrated service model and invest in technology-enabled solutions that help carriers improve claim outcomes and operational efficiency.
MacPhee brings more than three decades of leadership experience spanning claims, operations, underwriting, product development, marketing, and global business management. His appointment further strengthens ISG’s strategic focus on delivering comprehensive solutions that help insurers streamline workflows, reduce costs, and achieve better outcomes throughout the claims lifecycle.

Most recently, MacPhee served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Liberty Mutual, where he led a companywide operational excellence initiative that delivered approximately $1.8 billion in expense savings and helped reshape the organization’s operating model to support long-term profitable growth.
Prior to that role, he served as President of Global Retail Markets, overseeing Liberty Mutual’s $28 billion retail insurance business across 16 countries and leading approximately 30,000 employees. During his tenure, he helped reposition the company’s international portfolio, improve operating performance, and focus investment on strategic growth opportunities.
Earlier in his career, MacPhee held senior leadership positions spanning claims, underwriting, marketing, and product management, including Chief Claims Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. He led the modernization of claims operations through technology transformation initiatives and helped establish Liberty Mutual as one of the most recognized insurance brands in the industry.
An accomplished board leader, MacPhee currently serves on the boards of Boston Medical Center Health System and WellSense Health Plan and is Vice Chair and Treasurer of Pine Street Inn, New England’s leading provider of services for individuals experiencing homelessness. He also previously served on the Board of Directors of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, one of the nation’s leading trade organizations representing property and casualty insurers.
