For All Mankind premiered in 2019 as part of Apple TV’s initial launch lineup, and the alternate history sci-fi show imagines what would happen if the Soviet Union landed the first crewed mission on the moon, thus setting off a very different space race. While the story began in 1969, each season jumps ahead several years, and when season 5 kicks off it’ll be set in the 2010s on a Mars base called Happy Valley. Here’s the official logline:

Happy Valley has grown into a thriving colony with thousands of residents and a base for new missions that will take us even further into the solar system. But with the nations of Earth now demanding law and order on the Red Planet, friction continues to build between the people who live on Mars and their former home.
