An intoxicated woman in Elliot Lake has been charged with breaking into her neighbour’s apartment and choking their dog.
Ontario Provincial Police said they responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 23 “in relation to a violent neighbour dispute.”
“The complainant reported that their female neighbour was highly intoxicated and acting extremely irrationally,” police said in a news release.
“The female broke open the complainant’s door, entered the apartment, assaulted the complainant, and choked their dog. The dog was eventually let go and the (woman) threatened to kill it and the complainant.”
The suspect then broke three windows in the apartment and assaulted another person, police said.
“Police attended and subsequently arrested the female who was also very uncooperative with police,” the release said.
The 46-year-old has been charged with two counts of assault, one count of assault causing bodily harm, break and enter, mischief more than $5,000, uttering death threats, threatening an animal and animal cruelty.
The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on Nov. 24.
