Dublin, Aug. 07, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The “Data Center Solutions Market by Infrastructure, Software – Forecast to 2031” has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering.

The global data center solutions market is projected to grow from USD 535.45 billion in 2026 to USD 1.33 trillion by 2031, registering a compound annual growth rate of 20.1% during the forecast period. Rising investment in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure is accelerating demand for high-density computing environments, advanced storage, high-speed networking and next-generation cooling technologies.

A sustained hyperscale investment cycle is supporting market expansion as cloud providers and digital platform companies add capacity for increasingly intensive computing and data-processing requirements. Sustainability initiatives and evolving regulations are also prompting operators to modernize power and cooling infrastructure through energy-efficient designs, liquid cooling and intelligent infrastructure management.

Market development remains constrained by long lead times for critical electrical and mechanical equipment, supply chain limitations and power availability concerns in major data center hubs. Permitting requirements, land acquisition, grid connection delays, environmental concerns and community resistance can also extend project timelines. Additional challenges include skilled workforce shortages and the increasing power and infrastructure management demands associated with high-density AI workloads.

Liquid Cooling to Register the Fastest Growth

Liquid cooling is expected to record the fastest CAGR within the data center solutions market as AI, machine learning and HPC workloads generate substantially higher heat loads than traditional enterprise applications. Rack power densities increasingly exceed 30 kW and can surpass 60-100 kW per rack in AI deployments, reducing the effectiveness and energy efficiency of conventional air-cooling systems.

Direct-to-chip cooling, rear-door heat exchangers and immersion cooling systems provide the heat-removal capacity required to support dense computing deployments. Adoption is being driven by GPU-based AI clusters operated by hyperscale cloud providers, colocation companies and enterprises. Liquid cooling can also reduce cooling-related energy consumption, improve Power Usage Effectiveness and support corporate sustainability objectives.

Operators seeking to increase capacity within existing facilities are adopting high-density infrastructure and AI-ready retrofits, creating opportunities across cooling, power, networking and infrastructure services. Continued investment in energy-efficient AI data centers is expected to drive demand for liquid cooling faster than for traditional cooling technologies through 2031.

Tier 3 Data Centers to Hold the Largest Market Share

Tier 3 data centers are forecast to account for the largest market share, supported by demand for high availability, operational resilience and cost efficiency. Their N+1 redundancy across power, cooling and network infrastructure enables planned maintenance without interrupting operations, making these facilities a preferred option for enterprises, cloud service providers, financial institutions and colocation operators running mission-critical applications.

Tier 3 facilities commonly deploy redundant uninterruptible power supply systems, backup generators, advanced cooling, intelligent power distribution and data center infrastructure management platforms. Their ability to support scalable expansion while maintaining operational continuity aligns with cloud, AI, digital service and hybrid IT requirements.

North America Leads; Asia-Pacific Records the Fastest Regional Growth

North America leads the global data center solutions market due to its mature digital infrastructure, extensive cloud adoption, hyperscale investment and concentration of technology companies and colocation providers. Investment in capacity, power systems, cooling and connectivity continues across Northern Virginia, Texas, Phoenix and Kansas.

In June 2026, Digital Realty announced plans for a 600 MW hyperscale data center campus in Kansas, with long-term expansion potential of up to 2 GW. The project reflects continued US demand for infrastructure supporting AI, cloud services and HPC workloads.

Asia Pacific is projected to register the fastest growth during the forecast period. Digital transformation, enterprise digitization, cloud adoption, AI deployments, 5G expansion and government support are driving investment across China, India, Japan, Singapore and Australia. Renewable energy-powered data centers are also gaining momentum, increasing demand for servers, storage, networking, power management, cooling and automation platforms.
