A roadside robbery and carjacking has Elgin OPP searching for three individuals that impersonated police.
On Dec. 25 at 9:00 p.m., police received a call to the eastbound lanes of the 401 near the 65 km marker. There the victim was stopped by three people in two suspect vehicles, one with flashing red and blue lights in the windshield.
The victim was asked to exit the vehicle, and the suspects fled the scene with the victim’s car.
The victim was transported to hospital by EMS with minor injuries.
The suspects are described as follows:

One Black man in his thirties, roughly 6’ tall, wearing all black clothing, a back mask, and black ballistic style vest, with a handgun in a holster -
The second man is described as a brown man in his twenties, 5’8” tall, wearing similar clothing to the first man -
No description was provided for the third suspect
The vehicles were described as a black sedan with red/blue flashing lights in the windshield and a black SUV. No police markings were on either vehicle.
Police believe that this is an isolated incident and that there is no threat to public safety.
