Richmond, Virginia, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Virginia Credit Union recently announced the election of new officers for its Board of Directors.

Newly elected officers are:

  • Chair — L. Robert Bolling
  • Vice Chair — Penny Hodge
  • Secretary/Treasurer — Kimberly R. Baine
  • Member-at-Large — Paul D. Thompson

“On behalf of our Board, let me say how honored we all are to serve our fellow members and our credit union,” said Board Chair L. Robert Bolling. “VACU has achieved significant milestones in recent years by remaining firmly focused on those things that are foundational to our success: our mission, service to members, and creating value for our membership. From that solid foundation, we’ll look to innovation, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to members’ financial well-being to further elevate our credit union and its work to help members achieve greater success.”

As a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative, VACU is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by its membership. Board members serve three-year terms and are elected during the credit union’s Annual Meeting. Directors elect Board officers.

About the Board officers:

  • L. Robert Bolling is CEO of ChildSavers, a nonprofit that provides children’s mental health services and childcare resources. Bolling was appointed in 2018 to the VACU Board as an Associate Director and elected Director in 2024 and 2025. He previously served as the Board’s Vice Chair and as Secretary/Treasurer.
  • Penny Hodge is a certified public accountant and retired Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations for Roanoke County Public Schools. She served Member One Federal Credit Union as an Associate Board Member (2017-2020) and Board Member (2020-2024) before joining the VACU Board in 2024 following the merger of VACU and Member One.
  • Kimberly R. Baine is a Certified Public Accountant and owner of A.G. Reese and Associates, PC. She was appointed in 2021 to the VACU Board as an Associate Director and was elected to the Board as a Director in 2022 and 2025.
  • Paul Thompson is Vice President/Mid-Atlantic Distribution of MoboTrex, an intelligent transportation systems and smart mobility solutions company. He was appointed in 2015 to the VACU Board as an Associate Director and elected Director in 2016, 2020, 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Remaining members of the Board of Directors are:

  • Kenneth E. Ampy
  • Melina Davis
  • Patricia A. Green
  • John T. Grier
  • Matt Huff
  • Brian K. Jackson
  • Robert B. Jones Jr.
  • Eric B. Tolbert

“Our Board of Directors brings an extraordinary depth of experience, talent, and perspective to the work of leading this credit union — spanning accounting, investment management, nonprofit leadership, talent acquisition, public education, and technology,” said VACU President/CEO Chris Shockley. “That breadth of expertise is one of VACU’s greatest strengths, and what every member of our Board shares is a steadfast commitment to putting members first. I want to congratulate Robert, Penny, Kim, and Paul on their new roles and thank every member of our Board for the thoughtful leadership and volunteer service that help ensure VACU remains well-positioned to serve our nearly 500,000 members today and well into the future.”
