TORONTO – The Toronto Raptors have signed guard Jamal Shead to a multi-year, contract extension, the NBA team announced Thursday.
Terms were not disclosed, but Shead’s agent KJ Smith reposted an ESPN report of the deal to his X account that said the extension was worth US$24-million over three years.
The extension keeps Shead in Toronto through the 2029-30 season.
“From the 45th pick in the draft to the integral role he has carved out with our team, Jamal’s leadership, hard work, and tenacity earned this,” Raptors executive vice president and general manager Bobby Webster said in a statement. “We’re thrilled he’ll be a Raptor for seasons to come.”

Shead, an undersized guard who has turned heads with his tenacious defence, is entering his third season in Toronto.
