Gartner Magic Quadrant for IDP

Gartner Magic Quadrant for IDP names ABBYY a Leader.

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 11, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — ABBYY has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Intelligent Document Processing (IDP). It is ABBYY’s second recognition in the Gartner second evaluation of the IDP market and we believe it underscores the strength of ABBYY’s comprehensive Document AI portfolio. ABBYY Document AI solutions range from SaaS, self-hosted, private cloud, containerized and on-premises environments with a hybrid approach to document understanding that combines the advantages of deterministic and GenAI, and an expansive partner ecosystem. By using ABBYY’s purpose-built AI and ready-to-use document skills, global enterprises achieve improved and consistent performance, increased efficiency, controlled pricing, and high fidelity within their complex document workflows.

ABBYY continues to see growing demand for its Document AI solutions as enterprises require its ability to process any document in any format, any complexity and any volume. Through a purpose-built hybrid AI approach, the solutions are infrastructure-optimized to deliver the right technology for the task: deterministic extraction where certainty is needed and large language model (LLM)-based reasoning where flexibility is needed, in one governed pipeline while reducing token consumption.

“Hybrid AI architectures: Vendors are actively blending deterministic machine learning (ML), domain-specific small language models (DSLMs), and generative AI (GenAI) to balance processing accuracy, latency, and token inference costs.” Gartner. “As the market rapidly evolves from optical character recognition (OCR) toward agentic process automation, organizations seek platforms capable of delivering decision-grade data to downstream AI systems.”

Key strengths, in ABBYY’s opinion, include unifying its IDP portfolio and implementing a “bring your own LLM” capability to support flexible GenAI integration. Additionally, ABBYY was among the founding members of DocLang, an open, universal, AI-native document format designed to improve how enterprises prepare, exchange, and govern document data for AI systems.

Other enhancements made in the last year include a hybrid Document AI approach that integrates LLMs into the processing pipeline alongside the DocLang format for representing structured document data.

“We’re honored to once again be recognized as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for IDP. At ABBYY, we process every document with deterministic precision and zero hallucinations, so the LLMs you already trust run more accurately on far fewer tokens, at lower cost, and in less time,” commented Bruce Orcutt, Chief Marketing Officer at ABBYY. “We know that governance and compliance are also important. That’s why we’re built on the principles of reliability, consistency, transparency, and security to drive automation that is not only intelligent, but trusted and sustainable. We know customers demand outcomes and ROI, and we deliver.”

ABBYY delivers automated orchestration, validation, governance, and human review layered into your document-centric processes.
