Fox ESS Launches AirGate

Fox ESS AirGate is available now

SYDNEY, Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Recently, Fox ESS, a global leader in renewable energy solutions, has launched AirGate in Australia, a compact 5-in-1 whole-home backup solution designed to simplify installation, reduce wiring and commissioning complexity, and help cut costs for Australian households.

AirGate has been developed by Fox ESS engineers drawing on proven experience from international markets, where reliable backup is essential, alongside insights gained from Australian installers supporting increasingly complex home energy systems.

With Australia surpassing 500,000 home battery installations since the Cheaper Home Battery Program began, demand for reliable, value-driven backup is growing, yet installation can still be complex for installers:

  • More wiring and components than necessary, increasing labour time and cost
  • Time-consuming configuration during commissioning
  • Switchboard space constraints, especially in compact environments
  • Difficulty achieving straightforward, whole-home backup without added complexity

AirGate is designed specifically to reduce those friction points, delivering a cleaner installation path and better overall value for homeowners.

Stronger whole-home backup

AirGate provides whole-home backup of up to 63A, supporting up to 14.5 kW (single-phase) or 43.5 kW (three-phase). Its compact DIN-rail design uses four poles for single-phase and six poles for three-phase installations, helping streamline switchboard planning.

Less wiring, easier installation

AirGate integrates five essential functions into a single compact unit: MCB, changeover switch, metering, bypass switch and CT. By reducing the number of components and simplifying the system layout, AirGate can support at least 50% less wiring, which help reduce installation costs.

Based on feedback shared by Australian installers, reducing wiring for whole-home backup can save customers up to AUD $3,000 in installation costs, depending on the distance between the inverter and the switchboard.

Smarter commissioning and operations

AirGate includes integrated 6-CT self-adaptive metering with AI Phase Self-Adaptation, designed to help identify electrical connection status and reduce manual configuration during installation and commissioning.

In addition, an optional wireless gateway will be available soon, helping make system commissioning simpler and reducing the need for communication wiring.

“AirGate is the result of listening to the market and addressing the challenges installers and homeowners experience every day,” said Leo Ye, Product & Services Director, Fox ESS Australia. “We wanted to move beyond simply adding more technology and instead deliver a solution that makes energy systems genuinely simpler.”
