York, Pa., Sept. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — WellSpan Health has promoted Dr. David Gasperack to senior vice president, WellSpan Health, and chief medical officer, WellSpan Medical Group, effective Sept. 6. In this role, Gasperack will provide physician leadership for WellSpan Medical Group, partnering with clinical and operational leaders to advance quality, safety and physician engagement. His appointment follows more than two decades of service to WellSpan as a family physician and physician executive.
 
Over the course of his career with WellSpan, he has served in numerous leadership positions, including family physician, regional chief medical officer, vice president and chief medical officer for Primary Care, vice president and chief medical officer for WellSpan’s East Region, and most recently senior vice president of Primary Care and Population Health. In those roles, he has helped advance physician engagement, population health strategies, value-based care initiatives and clinical quality efforts across the system.

As chief medical officer for the WellSpan Medical Group, Gasperack will help guide physician leadership and support the organization’s continued focus on clinical excellence, strategic growth and patient experience.

He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and has held multiple physician leadership certifications. He is widely recognized for his collaborative leadership style, deep clinical expertise and commitment to improving care for patients throughout the region.
