After expanding its health and beauty lineup earlier this week with a camera-equipped electric toothbrush, Dyson is also introducing two new hair care products this month. The $329 Corrale CoolShine straightener upgrades the original Corrale that launched in 2020 with active cooling technology designed to “reduce residual heat
exposure” so hair feels smoother, softer, and cooler to the touch after styling. Alongside it is the new $249 Dyson Airsmooth dryer brush designed for both drying and styling hair using a new anti-snag bristle technology developed by the company.

The Corrale CoolShine carries forward the same flexing heated copper plates that the original used to clamp down on hair and evenly apply heat at over 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Those precisely controlled heating elements are now joined by water-filled pipes that draw excess heat away from hair as it’s being pulled through the straightener. So in a single pass, hair is being heated, straightened, and then cooled back down to help reduce potential damage from being heated too long.

The Dyson Airsmooth merges the same hair drying technology found in Dyson’s Supersonic hair dryers with a custom-designed brush attachment for creating a “polished natural blowout across all hair types.” The brush features both a teardrop-shaped design for creating volume and two types of bristles that use a looped structure, which collapses under tension to release strands and reduce snagging. Dyson claims the bristle design also improves scalp comfort during styling while the Airsmooth’s intelligent heat control system makes temperature adjustments 100 times each second to help reduce frizz and minimize the risk of heat damage.
