WASHINGTON, Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — IDENTITY WEEK AMERICA – Digital Check Corp., a leader in check image capture technology for banking and security applications worldwide, introduces the IDXact™ ID scanner — a professional-grade ID-1 card capture device. The IDXact scanner is designed to set the industry standard in high-quality, multi-spectrum imaging required for comprehensive identity verification and fraud mitigation across the banking, retail, government, automotive, and other markets where knowing your customer is critical. Models of the new IDXact device are on display this week at Identity Week America in Washington, D.C.

Utilizing nearly 70 years of expertise in photographic and imaging technologies, the IDXact scanner brings new innovations designed to address common identity fraud tactics. High-resolution capture enables identity verification software to analyze images in fine detail, a requirement for inspecting microprinting and other machine-readable security features. Patent-pending technology incorporated into the device allows scanning of even badly damaged driver’s licenses and identity cards, closing a key loophole that thieves use to avoid detection.

The base IDXact model offers visible-spectrum capture for applications where multiple light sources are not a requirement. The enhanced IDXact Plus model combines white, ultraviolet (UV), and infrared image capture at 600 dpi, delivering exceptional visual clarity even at high levels of magnification. Both models offer optional PDF417 barcode-extraction functionality, enabling auto-populated data entry and quick external database checks.

The IDXact scanner features industry-leading technology including:

  • Patent-pending ID handling design for accepting bent, worn, or damaged ID cards
  • Full-color 600 dpi image capture, including UV, infrared, and visible-light images in a single pass, allowing for detection of invisible security features
  • Optional PDF417 barcode extraction, reducing manual data entry
  • Two-section LED indicator light pipe, programmable to provide device status and scan results
  • Feed and return of ID cards in less than two seconds
  • Network connection options (Plus model only)
  • Assembled, tested, and supported in the USA

“Financial institutions tell us they are facing an unprecedented rise in sophisticated in-branch identity fraud, and manual ID inspections by frontline staff simply can’t keep up anymore,” Digital Check President Jeff Hempker said. “We’re excited to deliver the foundational first step in solving this problem by doing what we do best: capturing high-quality digital images that help our customers automate operations and protect their branches.”

Digital Check proudly designs, assembles, and supports the IDXact scanner in the same U.S. location where it has assembled more than 1.5 million check scanners trusted by leading financial institutions worldwide. For customers, this means shorter lead times, faster support, and direct access to a dedicated, domestic service team with an average of 10 years of hands-on experience working exclusively on Digital Check products.

“Our company is built on a rich, almost 70-year history of working with images, cameras, and optics to turn physical documents into digital assets,” Digital Check CEO Tom Anderson said. “We’re excited to draw on that expertise in a new way to help our customers stay ahead of evolving fraud risks. As physical identity fraud grows more complex, we’re applying decades of imaging precision to help businesses protect their physical locations with complete confidence.”
