Charleston, SC, May 07, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dr. Teresa M. Gonzalez releases her debut book, ¡Otro Domingo Siete!, a coming-of-age Hispanic and Latin American memoir that weaves together themes of teen pregnancy, cultural expectations, and resilience in the face of adversity.

Growing up in a traditional Catholic household, Gonzalez, who goes by Tessa in the book, is a spirited girl experiencing a series of life-altering changes, starting with the birth of her child at age fifteen. Moving backward from this moment, the story follows Tessa through childhood abandonment and domestic abuse, as well as migration to Mexico, then later to the United States.

Carrying the weight of generational trauma, Tessa confronts questions about her identity and her future, all while striving to complete high school and reclaims a sense of clarity and purpose about her life, graduating from college years later. She discusses motherhood, feminine agency, healing, and perseverance, ¡Otro Domingo Siete! brings in bilingual elements, real-world statistics, and a sharp perspective on intersectional social issues.

Dr. Gonzalez is a Dallas-based author and an active-duty service member in the Army, who brings a rich personal and professional background to her work. Her book is a tremendous encouragement to girls and women who have faced difficult questions and harrowing journeys—especially for those who have immigrated and know firsthand the experience of holding an identity across multiple worlds.

This unflinching, tender, and empowering memoir is perfect for fans of stellar Hispanic and Latin American literature, immigration stories, and explorations of feminine resilience. Texas residents, especially those from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, will celebrate this familiar and inspiring story from one of their own, a woman who made it, who overcame, and who built a life of joy and thriving.

¡Otro Domingo Siete! is available for purchase online at Bookshop.org, Amazon.com, and BarnesandNoble.com. For more information about the author, please visit any of her social media platforms.
